Appointment Scheduling
- MCO Orthodontics is fully digitized and the scheduling system is refined to give you the appointment times that you want, quality treatment you expect, and the luxury of running on time. It also enables us to answer any questions that you may have, thus keeping you fully informed about your treatment.
- We understand that many parents and children have extremely busy schedules, so we guarantee weekend and after school/work appointments for your routine visits (Saturdays in Markham only).
- Important to the success of this system is that longer appointments and comfort/emergency visits are scheduled at less popular times of the day. Generally these visits are the day the braces are placed on the teeth, and the day the braces come off, with a few exceptions. By agreeing to comfort/emergency visits and appointments longer than 45 minutes during weekday mornings, we are able to accommodate the greatest number of parents and patients during afternoon, evening, and weekend hours for your regular 8-week visits.
- Should you wish to come to the office during a quieter time, please let our team know and we will book your appointments in the morning.
- Parents and patients assume responsibility for a regularly maintained appointment schedule. Late arrivals do pose a problem and in all fairness to other patients, we may have to reschedule your appointment for another day if you are late.
- Should a bracket or band become loose, please advise our office prior to your regular adjustment appointment. We will try to accommodate you at your regular visit, but it may be necessary to schedule another time, depending on the urgency of the disturbance and the schedule for the day.
- We do require 2 business days' notice for rescheduling appointments to help our office serve you better. Please understand that if visits at popular times are missed or rescheduled without sufficient notice, we will be unable to offer you these times for future appointments.
- Our scheduling policies have been carefully devised for several reasons. Remember that successful orthodontic treatment is the result of a partnership between Dr. Tam, his staff, your family dentist, and especially you.
Financial Information
Early interceptive or partial treatment is generally about half the cost and time of full treatment. This investment is well worth it when considering the benefits of a healthy smile while reducing the need for expensive dental care when orthodontic problems are treated in a timely manner.
Your financial plan includes all aspects of treatment performed in our office, including one set of retainers and retainer visits for one year after braces have been removed. Note that we do not extract teeth, provide check ups, or perform cleanings in our specialty office.
Orthodontic Insurance
Our office is committed to helping you understand your insurance benefits. While we do not accept assignment from your insurance company, we are happy to provide you with a standardized Canadian Association of Orthodontists predetermination form. Please confirm the details of your orthodontic coverage prior to your first visit so that we can complete this document for you. Your receipts will be available in your online account for printing, if needed, to faciliate your orthodontic insurance, allowing you to be reimbursed directly. Note that you do not need to send in your predetermination first, as you are covered already, even though the insurance company may ask you to do so.
We are pleased to offer flexible, interest-free payment plans, loans and payment methods such as Visa, MasterCard, and debit to assist you in your investment towards a beautiful smile. We look forward to helping you discover the secret behind Markham, Stouffville, and Greater Toronto's best smiles!
